Aston Martin RapidE concept review

Image 1 of 12 Image 1 of 12 8 Dec, 2017 3:30pm Jonathan Burn The RapidE is a tantalizing glimpse into the future of luxury and refinement for Aston Martin The first electric car in Aston Martin’s 104-year history will be the RapidE. Only 155 examples of the electric saloon will be built and first customers will take delivery in 2019. To get a taste of how an electric Aston feels and sounds, Auto Express has been given closer look at the brand’s RapidE concept car. Developed with the technical knowhow from Williams Advanced Engineering, the RapidE you see here isn’t a representation of how the finished model will drive – or even of how it’ll look. Aston says it’s ‘proof of concept’ – a statement of intent to show that the brand is serious about electrification. In fact, the first discussions about an electric Aston were held almost three years ago. • Best electric cars 2017 Final specifications and technical deta... [more] : 2017-12-08 15:44:36

Mazda MX-5 Z-Sport limited-edition revealed

Lee Stern 8 Dec 2017 The new Mazda MX-5 Z-Sport has been unveiled, a limited edition version of the world’s best selling sports car. Due to go on sale in March 2018 with a price of £25,595, only 300 examples of the UK-only limited-edition will be built. The revival of the Z-Sport moniker – seen on the previous third generation MX-5 range – delivers a host of superficial changes inside and out. Based on the 2.0-litre Sport Nav model, the Z-Sport will also feature the revised suspension and steering announced at the 2017 Tokyo motor show, according to Mazda UK, whose confirmed the chassis-based changes will be rolled out to all 2018 MX-5 models. > Mazda MX-5 review Sand-coloured leather covers the seats, door cards and the bottom half of the dash, while the floor mats and scuff plates bare the Z-Sport name, as does the plaque on the dash, displaying the car’s build-number in the Z-Sport series production run. Externally the Z-Sport is finished... [more] : 2017-12-08 12:25:28

Mazda MX-5 Z-Sport announced for UK

Dan Smith 2017-12-08 11:30 Exclusive Mazda MX-5 Z-Sport is limited to 300 models, and comes with a red roof, 17-inch wheels and new leather trim Mazda has announced a limited edition version of its MX-5 roadster called the Z-Sport. It’s based on the 2.0-litre Sport Nav model and just 300 will be built – each with a price tag of £25,595.  That means the Z-Sport costs £1,400 more than the Sport Nav car, but a series of cosmetic upgrades will ensure its exclusivity. The Cherry Red roof first appeared on the fourth-generation MX-5 at October’s Tokyo motor show, and comes as standard on all Z-Sport cars. Black 17-inch BBS alloy wheels are also included. Image 2 of 12 Image 2 of 12 Jeremy Thomson, Mazda UK managing director said: “The MX-5’s new Cherry-coloured roof was shown for the first time in public at Tokyo where it received a very positive reception. Rinspeed Snap self-driving microbus concept set for CES 2018

Dan Smith 2017-12-07 13:00 Built with connectivity and living space in mind, the fully autonomous Rinspeed Snap has 5G WiFi and room for occupants Swiss concept car creator Rinspeed is known for its unusual, quirky designs for cars of the future that can go underwater or shrink into parking bays. In its latest futuristic automotive vision, it’s come up with a fully connected autonomous microbus for the upcoming CES show. Unlike some of Rinspeed’s previous efforts, the Snap might not be too wide of the mark. The Rinspeed Snap is a self-driving vehicle with computer hardware and software built into the chassis. The passenger cell is a separate entity from this high-tech platform, which results in greater flexibility for the design. The pod, for example, can be removed and used as a makeshift gazebo separate from the chassis. • 25 years of crazy Rinspeed concepts Rinspeed has filled the Snap with an array of sensors so that it functions properly a... Audi TT facelift spied winter testing

Jordan Katsianis 7 Dec 2017 Audi’s third generation TT, which has been on sale since 2015, has been spotted undergoing winter testing ahead of its mid-life refresh that’s due in 2018, with these spy shots giving us our first indications of what to expect. Immediately obvious are the new bumpers front and rear hiding underneath camouflage. Looking decidedly more aggressive than the current car, there’s a new mesh pattern featured in the single-frame grille. Both the Coupe and Roadster in these images feature two, circular exhaust outlets, informing that this is likely a standard TT and not a hot TTS or TT-RS model.  > Click here for our review of the Audi TT-RS The third generation TT was originally designed under the two-man design leadership of Wolfgang Egger and Stefan Sielaff. The pair pushed the Audi design team towards an angular aesthetic that underwent some criticism for looking too indistinct from previous models. Image 3 of 13 Image ... [more] : 2017-12-07 11:22:52

A shadowy teaser image released by the brand represents our first look at the LF-1 Limitless concept car, it’s set to debut at the 2018 Detroit motor show in January with Lexus describing it as a ‘crossover with no limits’. Information is in short supply at this stage but Lexus does reveal that the concept is the work of its CALTY design studio in Newport Beach, California, and that it’s a ‘flagship model that seeks to redefine the boundaries of luxury’.  > Read the Lexus LC500 coupe first drive review The picture, an elevated and offset view from the rear of the car, shows what appears to be a 2-door coupe-SUV with sharply sculpted lines and a sweeping rear light treatment that runs across the tailgate from wheelarch to wheelarch.
